Siam Global Associates, Law Firm: Personalized Service, International Standards.

Welcome to the Thailand Law Forum. Our mission is to provide general information concerning Thailand-related legal, business and social issues. If you are interested in new developments in Thai law, business or the Thai legal system, please check our News section. If you are interested in more theoretical and in-depth analysis of issues involving the Thai legal system, please see our Articles section.

Our most recent articles cover a variety of legal issues. Of particular interest to individuals involved in litigation with defendants or witnesses in Thailand is Siam Global Associates' article Service of Process of Foreign Subpoenas in Thailand. We are also proud to host Dr. Autid Suparb's article on criminology and sentencing in Thailand. Other articles, regarding Child Rights and DNA Evidence, concern issues which extend beyond the borders of Thailand. Finally, we have an article that is literally out of this world: The Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Outer Space discusses the application of existing laws to an under-developed area of law.

Finally, we have added a live news feed to our news section featuring current news articles on the Thai law scene.

In a case revolving around the construction of the Yadana natural gas pipeline in Southern Burma, the US court of Appeals has established that the defendant, Unocal, may be responsible for aiding and abetting human rights violations by the Burmese military. The decision illustrates the use of the Alien Tort Claims Act over corporate defendants.
